Getting pre-approved is a great step in the right direction when you’re wanting to buy a home. How can you smoothly get from pre-approval to final approval on a loan though? Be sure not to do any of the following!

          1. Don’t change jobs or become ‘self-employed’

          2. Don’t allow anyone to ‘pull your credit’ aka check your credit score

          3. Don’t change bank accounts

          4. Don’t spend the money you have saved for your down payment

          5. Don’t co-sign for anyone

          6. Don’t let your credit card payments fall behind

          7. Don’t buy a vehicle

Keep in mind, 10 days prior to closing, your lender is required to verify your credit and employment. This report will show if you have acquired any more debt that could prohibit your ability to close the loan.
